Novelty 'Woolies' Plastic Dinosaurs

  • circa 1960s, by unknown Aussie maker
  • believed 8 different (well, I've seen 7!), around 2 to 2.5 inches high
  • most likely sold at Australian retail stores like Woolworths (hence 'Woolies')
  • Non-Cereal Comment: toys with a nice cozy, waxy plastic feel; each creature's genus name printed in raised letters, usually along spine (see example picture); quaintly goofy-looking & also tough-to-find

THE FINE PRINT: Genus name in raised letters on the Pteranodon's right 'arm'; note also the fat little fingers... cute!
